Russ seems to have the ability to do just about anything you can concoct. Just imagine it and he and his crew will find a way. Beautifully and precisely. |

When we began thinking about a new home, we naturally gravitated to the idea of renovating an older residence. We wanted to avoid new construction, and the horror stories we've heard about the experience. In fact, we never dreamed we'd build a new home. But friends lead us to Russ. And he toured a number of his homes with us, introducing us to his clients and inviting us to talk at length with them. We gained a whole new perspective on the process.

Our house was designed with Russ over a period of several months. After looking at other Doucette homes we developed a floor plan. Then, we let it evolve, thinking through every square inch of the place. Re-thinking the home, letting it evolve and adjusting it as we planned added a great deal to our project. Our ideas fueled Russ' creativity and he found ways to solve problems our wishes presented. For instance, we love fireplaces. Our home today has three working fireplaces off a single chimney. As a result, we have hearths in the kitchen, den and living room. Pretty terrific.

Russ' craftsmanship is terrific. He and his crew have remarkable attention to detail. The beauty of their workmanship has to be seen to be appreciated. Even better, they seem to have the ability to do just about anything you can concoct. Just imagine it and they'll find a way. Beautifully and precisely.

One last anecdote: Shortly after we moved in we discovered a leak in a drain pipe leading away from our washer and drier. It created something of a small mess in our kitchen and, reluctantly, we called Russ' office and left a message there. In a matter of hours Russ himself was at our door, tools in hand. Of course, he fixed the problem. Which wouldn't be anything other than exemplary except it was Christmas day. If you know another builder who fixes leaks on Christmas, I'd like to meet him.
